Senior Indirect Procurement Manager EMEA and APAC
As Senior Indirect Procurement Manager, you’ll develop and execute a global Indirect Procurement roadmap that builds the capabilities needed for long-term growth and sustainability for the EMEA & APAC regions across all indirect categories. You’ll also deploy the company’s procurement strategies, identify and execute operational process improvement initiatives, and ensure excellence in category management throughout all sites in EMEA & APAC region.
Lead the Indirect Procurement Team and help transform the Indirect procurement organization
Define and drive implementation of best in class tools and methods to deliver budgeted savings
Develop a high-performing and motivated indirect procurement team responsible for interfacing with business and supplier partners
Ensure that Indirect suppliers are aligned with our cost reduction plan and held accountable for their performance
Identify opportunities to bundle spend, to take common initiatives, to synergize and consolidate spend across DS entities/Sites
Report up-to-date and consistent saving status & forecast
Cooperatively develop standards and processes to service multiple entities (including manufacturing sites)
Engage with Procurement COE & internal stakeholders to ensure proper classification of category spend, and to drive end to end source to pay automation process implementation, automatization of non-added value
Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, lead critical negotiations together with RSL/GCM when required
Capture supplier innovation and continuous improvements to drive sustainable cost improvements, and help DS to stay ahead of the market
Build relationships and partner closely with key business stakeholders (e.g. Product Management, Finance, R&D, Manufacturing) to understand current and future business requirements, strategy, challenges, opportunities and proactively address them, ensure business and procurement objectives alignment
Represent the Indirect Procurement function to the Regional Management teams, report and address procurement topics.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, engineering, procurement, supply chain, or similar; an MBA or Procurement certification (CPP, CPM, CPP, SPSM) would be a plus
8 years’ experience in Procurement Management, including multiple years in Indirect Procurement (developing and managing supplier contracts)
3 years’ experience leading, developing and managing multi-cultural teams across multiple locations
Successful track record leading complex projects with diverse stakeholders
Excellent commercial instincts & business knowledge/acumen
Strong negotiation skills, expert understanding of contracting terms, conditions, and contracting techniques for managing risk
Solid analytical & problem-solving capability
Excellent communication skills in German & English /C1/C2 min.); French / Italian would be a plus
Deep experience with, multi-step strategic sourcing processes and category management strategies
A proven track record of delivering distinctive saving results across indirect spend categories
Ability to go beyond leveraged sourcing to drive differential value from strategic and operational process improvement initiatives
Embraces fact‐based decision making; naturally seeks to leverage and/or integrate market data, spend analytics, and cost modeling
