Your role in helping us shape the future:
As a member of the U.S. News Money team, you will be involved in implementing our SEO strategy for traffic growth that helps drive the future of our business. You will be a key member of a fast-growing organization that is goal-oriented and re-shaping our future.
The primary responsibilities of the SEO Content Analyst will be to champion our organic traffic growth through smart, actionable search tactics and work closely with the Consumer Advice team to improve editorial content through search. You will assist in the analysis and reporting and be the resident expert on Search algorithm updates and industry trends. If you dream about Robots.txt or know how to use “canonical” in a sentence, then you’ll love this role.
The SEO Content Analyst will work closely with the Money product and editorial teams to generate and maintain highly optimized, of interest content. This position will also work to improve overall organic performance and assist with reporting, analysis and recommendations across the money vertical.
Are you up to the challenge?
Responsible for analyzing, identifying and managing SEO initiatives and organic search opportunities
Develop and deliver clear SEO KPIs and attain improved organic traffic growth
Create and implement specific page-level SEO recommendations
Execute strategic on page and technical SEO activities across keyword research, link-building, page indexing and crawling
Work closely with SEO Lead, Product, Editorial, Tech and Business Intelligence departments to drive implementation of SEO recommendations
Create detailed and routine analysis and reporting of SEO KPIs
Provide analysis of competitor sites and identify areas of opportunity
Stay abreast of new tools, trends and best practices on all search engine algorithm updates (primarily Google) and the SEO industry
Participate in special projects that may support other verticals as requested.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
You should definitely have:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably Business major or similar, or equivalent experience
3 or more years of professional SEO experience with proven results
Knowledge of SEO methodologies and best practices
Experience with reporting/tracking tools including Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics and Google Search Console, SEO optimization platforms such as Searchmetrics, SEMrush and data-driven SEO analysis
Proven success in creating and implementing SEO plans and strategies resulting in tangible growth in organic traffic
Experience working with cross-platform teams to implement SEO strategies
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, HTML and understanding source code
Experience working with content teams
It would be nice if you had:
Familiarity with Schema.org markup a plus
Experience with crawling software such as Screaming Frog SEO Spider and DeepCrawl a plus
Experience with SEO for media sites is a big plus
