The IMS Division provides cyber solutions to a wide range of Defense and Intelligence Community customers. This division consists of a team of technical leaders that deliver advanced technical solutions to government organizations. As Principal Systems Engineer you will be responsible for supporting and managing VMware ESXi Server hardware, HP SAN Storage, Backup infrastructure, Windows Server 2003/2008 R2/2012 R2, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Group Policies, Public Key Infrastructure, and HP Blade Servers.
Responsibilities included but not limited to:
Engineering, documenting, delivering and maintaining the platforms listed above in accordance with customer specifications and security guidelines
Willing to create quality SOP to document the necessary steps to maintain server hardware.
Diagnosing and resolving the toughest performance, security, and/or technical challenges related to the platforms listed above
Participating in processes throughout all phases of ITIL Service Lifecycle, including submitting Change Requests
Providing direction and guidance to less experienced systems engineers.
Responsibility for investigating and resolving operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel.
Providing IT Systems Engineering support on a wide range of technologies, including: VMware vCenter, Horizon View, Site Recovery Manager, HPAC Secure Printing, HP Blade Servers, HP SANs, Certificate Services, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Group Policies and Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.Other tasks to include requirements specification, performance modeling, end-to-end functional analysis, cost estimation, and joint application design.
Working on project teams responsible for engineering and packaging releases to integrate within the customer's production IT environment.
Other duties as required.
Requires Bachelor's degree and 7- 9 years of related experience or equivalent experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Systems, HP SANs, VMware products.
CISSP, Security CE or DoD 8570 Certification required
MCSE - Microsoft Certified System Engineer, MCSE - Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, MCSA - Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, MCITP - Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional, ITIL v3.0 or Foundation Certifications highly desired
Top Secret clearance required
Requires Bachelors degree (in Computer Science, Math, Electrical Engineering or related field) and seven to nine years of related experience.
