Fast growing Plaintiff's side employment litigation firm looking for a motivated paralegal to join its team and advocate for employees and their rights. Candidates for this position must have at least 2 to 5 years employment law background at a plaintiff firm and need to have extensive knowledge in all aspects of employment law including wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wage and hour individual and class action claims. Some of the other qualifications include:
Extensive knowledge in all aspects of employment law including wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wage and hour individual and class action claims.
Drafting legal documents and pleadings, including complaints, discovery, subpoenas, motions and briefs specifically tailored to employment claims.
Handling discovery and contact with clients to complete draft responses and objections.
Organizing and maintaining documents in a paper or electronic filing system.
Filing documents with court clerk/e-service.
Knowledge of, maintain, and update trial deadlines.
Investigating facts and laws of cases and searching public records and other resources to prepare cases and determine causes of action.
Directing and coordinating law office activity, including delivery of subpoenas.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel & Clio.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to function effectively in a busy, team oriented environment.
Office administration experience.
