Our application offerings include Customer Care and Billing, Work and Asset Management, Operational Device Management, Meter Data Management, Mobile Workforce Management, and Outage & Distribution Management, which enables utility service related companies to achieve market excellence.

Position Description:

The Functional Architect role within the Global Delivery organization is focused on providing expertise in Work and Asset Management (WAM) and Operational Device Management (ODM) on Oracle Utilities product engagements.  Multi-product integration encompassing complex business process experience is a plus.  The Functional Architect will work directly with client’s core business and project team to ensure focus on business case objectives, leveraging best practice processes across the solution set, and scope management. This role also involves developing practical and creative solutions in a way that solves business problems through facilitation of workshops with clients to deliver a clear specification of the customer’s business requirements and a business-justified solution.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

Internal

Mentor junior resources on UGBU products and industry best practices
Contribute to reusable collateral/accelerators
Knowledge sharing across peer group

Project engagements

Apply professional mastery and industry-wide understanding of technology, tools and methodologies to develop solutions in leading edge or critical situations
Guide clients towards solutions that leverage base system functionality and best practices in the industry
Guide and facilitate system configuration
Develop functional design specifications
Anticipate future customer, industry and information technology trends
Business process modeling (experience with Oracle Utilities Reference Models is a plus)
Ability to review and understand multiple designs and ensure formation of a creative and cohesive solution

Preferred qualifications include:

WAM/ODM product experience on multiple implementation projects assuming greater responsibilities over time
Was the lead Functional Architect on at least one (1) WAM/ODM implementation project
Conduct and lead business workshops related to the WAM/ODM application and associated business processes
Driving the client to a recommended solution and owning the delivery of it
Hands on experience with Oracle Utilities Application Framework (OUAF) including Configuration Tools
Successful Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) full software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience as either individual contributor or project manager
Experience with Oracle WAM or competing Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solutions (e.g. Maximo, Oracle EAM, Ventyx, Infor)
5 years overall relevant WAM/ODM Functional Architect and consulting experience
Ability to travel to client locations globally

Prior team leadership or management experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
