We are currently seeking a highly motivated and talented Network Security Engineer to join our industry leading security organization at ManTech International Corporation. The successful candidate will work with cross functional teams to deliver innovative network security solutions. Reporting to the Director, Networking and Data Center Services, this technical role will focus on continuously evaluating network security hygiene and identifying areas of improvement while working with the network infrastructure team to evolve network security at all layers across both traditional and cloud network topologies.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Serve as a source of network security expertise to help teams across ManTech with complex problem solving
Develop network security best practices and standards
Collaborate with ManTech’s infrastructure teams to develop first class network security controls
Continuously identify enhancements to existing security controls and implement action plans to improve security posture
Work hands-on in designing, deploying and maintaining technical security solutions
Work in collaboration with third party vendors and partners to ensure consistent operations
Basic Qualifications:
Strong understanding of secure network architecture
Strong understanding of network-based security controls such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF, DNS-based controls, and segmentation/enclave development.
Intimate knowledge of network fundamentals such as subnetting, VLANs, routers, switches, and firewalls
Proficiency with threat detection and response in the network domain.
3 years’ experience with security engineering
Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a team
Track record for working as an individual contributor and as a member of a matrixed team
Ability to communicate effectively to globally diverse teams using written communications, in-person, as well as over voice and video mediums
Preferred Qualifications:
Networking related certification such as CCNA, Network , or comparable
Proficient with a wide variety of network device vendors and configurations
Familiar with cloud-based networking and security strategies
Familiar with network security tool sets such as RedSeal, NetMRI and Umbrella
Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and changing business requirements
Highly collaborative, successful in a matrixed and geographically diverse environment
Detail and goal oriented
Ability to work with/lead others and independently contribute successes
