Motion Control and Integrated Safety Product Manager','19002394','United States-Virginia-Charlottesville','','Product Management','Feb 11, 2019','!*!Description: The Motion Control and Integrated Safety Product Manager will develop the strategic and technical product plan for Motion and Integrated safety for the Intelligent Platforms PAC Systems product line which includes both the RX3i and RSTi-EP family of products. This includes evolving the PAC Motion product to be based on industry standards to broaden the set of third party equipment the product works with. Responsibilities: As the Motion Control and Integrated Safety Product Manager you will: Need
strong technical skills to understand the customer's domain, the problems
they are trying to solve, and the available state of the art products and
platforms that can be applied to these challenges Work
closely with engineering and architecture leaders to develop the detail
product requirements in terms of use cases and backlog representing the
set of engineering deliverables required to the product platforms to
provide a differentiated experience to customersBe
capable of making real time prioritization and tradeoffs of engineering
deliverables balancing the need for speed in the market with the need to
solve the customer challenges holistically Work
closely with the project services team to ensure the solutions can be
delivered by the internal Intelligent Platforms services organizationIdentify
and understand unsolved customer business challenges in the area of motion
control and integrated safety that if solved would lead to overall product
line and business growth Work
with partners, engineering, and other product line leaders develop
creative solutions to customer motion and safety challenges with
sufficient differentiation to have strong market success potential Develop
business plans outlining the opportunity, competitive situation,
investment recommendations, sequencing, and business benefit of investing
in the overall solution Turn
the business requirements into engineering backlog and work closely with
Engineering on the product development and solution delivery Ensure
the solution fits naturally into the overall Intelligent Platforms
portfolio driving pull-through of the broader products Work
with Sales and Marketing communications to enable the channel and account
managers to successfully sell the motion and integrated safety
solutions. Clearly
identify the target project types, simplify the selling message down to the
salient points of differentiation, and enable the project and applications
teams to be able to quickly deliver quotes to customers considering
the solution Work
with Manufacturing and Supply chain to establish the delivery side of the
product ensuring customer expectations around lead times and quality are
met Proactively
collect feedback from customers, channel partners, account managers, and
OEMs/Integrators adopting the product in order to gather real time market
intelligence and make adjustments to the product portfolio and direction
in real time
','!*!Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent degree
from an accredited University or CollegeMinimum
5 years of experience in Engineering or Product ManagementUnderstanding
of control system architectures and manufacturing and/or plant equipmentExperience
with General Motion ControlStrong
collaboration skills and ability to work cross functionallyBusiness
acumen with ability to understand and develop and defend business cases
for recommended program spendContinuous
learner motivated to stay current on competitor solutions, customer needs,
new technology approaches as the industry evolvesAbility
to present technical concepts to senior leadership in a business forum
