The Manager will play an integral role primarily managing $190M in NA Spend, developing the Category Spend Strategies and stratifying the Vendor base to right size and rationalize across the category and company. Additionally, this role will integrate with broader company portfolio strategic sourcing initiatives to leverage global footprint of the category spend. The Manager will work with various stakeholders and cross-functional teams across Brands and/or Regions on spend management initiatives, assisting internal stakeholders in vendor selection, cost negotiations and contract execution

The Manager will develop and implement category-specific strategies, drive strategic sourcing activities, and build supplier relationship management programs for various categories of indirect spend including Logistics, Distribution, and Warehousing.

Additionally, the Manager will work directly on the identification, tracking and management of value/savings delivery across regions or globally. This individual will manage preferred suppliers’ portfolios, shaping and implementing supplier relationship management programs, and ensuring savings realization. The Manager will provide leadership from a procurement perspective and influence business partners to consider new and creative sourcing strategies. The manager will work with the global category leads for Logistics and Distribution to ensure alignment from a holistic standpoint to support the global and regional needs.

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated professional, with demonstrated successful experience leading negotiations and engaging with senior management. The ideal candidate must develop broad influence through a robust set of internal/external relationships across the organization; promotes win-win outcomes within, among and across teams, using the diverse perspectives of others to achieve results. The candidate will have the ability to influence customers and/or organizational leadership through effective listening and communication to accomplish operational objectives. 

Strategy implementation and Sourcing Delivery NA

Regional Category Strategy

Leads execution of indirect procurement strategies for the Logistics and Distribution services category within NA
Contribute to Strategic thinking and development of sourcing plans with Supply Chain IP Director, implement in region.
NA Category Management for all modes of Transportation (Air, Ocean, Trucking, and Parcel) and Logistics/Warehousing (DC’s, Cross Docks, and Project/Specialty Warehouses)
Shape and lead RFX process for Logistics and Distribution services; including transportation and 3PL services market events

Procurement best practices

Support build of Category FY plan and deliver on it with regional and affiliate resource support
Deliver year on year 3-5% cost reduction in the category, through mix of OPEX and COGS delivery.
Actively drives compliance of the category strategies and sourcing projects with the ELC Procurement Policy, Directive, Guidelines and local Procurement SOPs as well as legal and regulatory requirements
Partner with global Logistics and Distribution category leads, ensure regional and global strategies drive continuous value
Lead supplier risk mitigation in the region with key stakeholders’ alignment
Share best practices for all regional spend areas; lift and shift best practices from one region to other regions

Business strategy delivery

Continuously monitors external market conditions, understands and shares potential impacts on business strategies
Leads supplier negotiation and contract discussions with stakeholders and legal, implements and executes contracts.
Monitors value delivery results, utilizing data reporting capabilities, against established global and regional KPIs
Identify new opportunities to meet business needs and cultivate supplier relationships
Participates in special projects as requested


Supply Chain Stakeholder collaboration.

Review the existing supply chain categories and subcategories, analyzing contracts and process to identify opportunities.
Identifies and develops excellent working relationships with strategic business stakeholders; gain comprehensive understanding of business requirements to support the business in achieving desired outcomes
Contributes value to the business through strategy development, structuring and selecting the “right” supplier base
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems using data from various sources
On repeat spend and projects, develop a range of options, costs and benefits & clear recommendations
Seek buy-in and approval from the Supply Chain Director IP, VP Indirect Procurement, and the Supply Chain leadership team
Point of escalation in resolving supplier quality, cost, and service issues in the region

Bachelor/University Degree or Equivalent with further education preferred in Business, Procurement and or Supply Chain.
4 years of experience including either Procurement, Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, DC Fulfilment
CIPS, PMP, ISM, CSCP, or Procurement Qualification may be an advantage

Demonstrate a depth of understanding in Logistics services (e.g. 3PL, Freight Forwarders, OTR, LTL, FTL, Parcel Air Freight, Ocean, Inbound/Outbound) and Warehousing/Distribution
Experienced as Procurement lead on major Logistics and Distribution projects across a region or multiple countries
Skilled in Logistics and Distribution contracting terminology and establishing robust cost and service frameworks
Manage suppliers; setting and measuring KPIs and establish meetings with stakeholders
Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry experience preferred but not required
English and additional languages preferred
Minimal travel – approximately 5%

Demonstrated change leadership, successfully influencing regional stakeholders at all levels

Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, and in multicultural settings
Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills

Analytical Capabilities

Analytical & strong presentation skills, including intermediate use of Excel/QlikView/PowerBI and PowerPoint
Data Analysis: Understand category spend and drivers by analyzing internal data, economic factors, and costs to provide visibility of key drivers and levers.
Proficient in ERP technology, preferably SAP ECC, SAP SRM, and Ariba Sourcing and Contracts
