POSITION: Manager of Technical Accounting
The Manager of Technical Accounting reports to the Life Fitness Group Controller and has primary responsibility for researching and implementing technical accounting guidance, reporting in compliance with United Sates Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) and interfacing with external auditors on technical accounting matters.
Identify and research technical accounting topics to ensure compliance with GAAP. Ensure IFRS to GAAP entries are accurate.
Point of contact for technical accounting questions or matters that may arise from the locations.
Evaluate new accounting pronouncements for applicability to the Company and lead implementation.
Write memos to support the Company’s accounting positions and conclusions. Oversee maintenance of Finance / Accounting Policies and Procedures.
Responsible for executive compensation GAAP accounting and reporting.
Complete the US GAAP reporting checklist and support the preparation of the Company’s financial statements, including footnote disclosures.
Key point of contact with external auditors for all technical accounting items.
Support Finance and Accounting teams. Other duties as assigned.
5-7 years’ experience, some public accounting experience required
Strong working knowledge of US GAAP. IFRS and global accounting knowledge helpful.
Proven track record in researching and interpreting GAAP, creating and implementing technical accounting procedures and supporting reporting requirements
Manufacturing experience helpful.
Education and Certifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting
Skills and Capabilities:
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
Self-starter, able to work independently
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with changing needs
