We are currently searching for a Legal Intern to join our Legal Team for a 6 month fixed term contract. The role is based in our Harlow Office. With our office right by Harlow town station, we've got great transport links into London and beyond, and there's free parking on site - a definite bonus! Plus we’ve got great facilities here for our employees.
Support, develop and deliver, operational legal initiatives to streamline the approach to the business and introduce new ways of working. Including providing support and delivering the implementation of new processes from beginning to end.
Supporting the wider Legal team by researching, drafting, developing, rolling out and where required, giving legal training to the business on contract templates and the use legal database systems.
Supporting the legal team on new corporate governance reporting requirements and associated research and assisting with drafting.
Preparing board meeting materials under the guidance of the General Counsel as well as developing and embedding processes and tools to automate the process.
Assisting General Counsel with financial reporting requirements and processes.
Working with the wider Legal Team, General Counsel and external providers to develop automated processes to manage and assist with Data Subject Access Requests and GDPR processes.
Support General Counsel and the Legal Team on the execution of shared goals and strategic priorities which assist with streamlining processes.
Developing own initiatives for streamlining and simplifying business-legal initiatives.
Instructing and managing external law firms, and legal outsourcing providers, and counsel - ensuring adherence with strict cost management principles at all times.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and industry codes, as well as with Teva global and local policies.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
LPC or equivalent legal qualifications; or
Significant experience of working within a business or law firm as a paralegal.
Prior experience in a legal function (desirable but not a pre-requisite).
A genuine interest in and understanding and developing simplified business-legal processes.
Hard working and enthusiastic team player.
Willingness to learn and high level of initiative.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate and collaborate at all levels within the business.
Capability to work within a fast paced environment and meet deadlines.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage their own workload and ability to manage conflicting deadlines.
Pro-active approach and ability to demonstrate initiative – a can-do attitude.
High level of professionalism and good judgment.
