Galpin Motors is looking for a Legal Assistant to join our team!
This is a great opportunity to contribute to demonstrate your skills and grow with an industry leader. Experience in the automotive industry (even if unrelated to being a legal assistant) is a huge plus! Candidates with experience as a Finance Assistant, Executive Assistant, or Service Department Assistant would excel in this role.
Some of What You’ll do:
Support the in-house legal department on a wide variety of legal matters
Maintain hard copy and electronic files
Draft and revise correspondence
Coordinate responses to, assist with, and track responses to subpoenas and other legal requests
Assist with managing cases, deadlines and discovery responses
Maintain corporate documents and track corporate filing deadlines
Maintain calendar and ensure entries are up to date and accurate
Track corporate document filing deadlines
Coordinate with various managers and external partners to calendar dates and obtain information as needed
Retrieve, assemble and redact documents in preparation for productions and in keeping with company policies and attorney guidance
Assist with various compliance tasks as assigned
Maintain confidentiality and the attorney-client privilege
What we are looking for:
2 years as a legal assistant OR working at a Dealership with an understanding of sales and service processes required
Strong writing and analytical skills
Detail oriented and highly organized
Comfortable in a fast paced environment
Ability to work independently, spot issues, and meet deadlines
Ability to manage time, be flexible, and handle multiple tasks efficiently
Desire to learn and be a part of and support a well-functioning team
Experience with Microsoft Office is required
Good communication skills and ability to work well with others throughout the organization
Exhibits poise, understanding, empathy and tact in their interactions with internal and external team members
