Job Description SummaryThis individual plays a leadership role in design, delivery, and support for BD Innovation Process engagements, including understanding the process, working with business and regional innovation process leaders to characterize learning communities and innovation objectives, maintaining course and workshop materials, and participating actively in the innovation community. They will maintain the calendar for and lead innovation workshops and classes, and work with innovation leaders to provide metrics related to course effectiveness and contribution to business objectives.Job DescriptionRESPONSIBILITIESWorking with external experts, design and deliver Innovation Process courses and workshops, including developing, updating, and customizing support material as required.Participate actively with Product Delivery portfolio owners to maintain up-to-date knowledge of project and portfolio priorities and how the integration participation in portfolio management processes, operations, and tools for large, complex organizations.Proactively maintain relationships with innovation leaders in all BD businesses and regional design centers to keep innovation process education current and directed at current skills needs.In partnership with BD University, maintain current knowledge of BD virtual classroom practices platforms and adapt Innovation coursework to maximize their effectiveness on those platforms.As opportunities arise, partner with functional leaders outside the Category Innovation, Product Innovation, New Product Delivery, and Sustaining Engineering functions to present Innovation process coursework and facilitate innovation workshops in support of identified business goals.Actively maintain Innovation course strategy linked to all organizational goals for innovation, including contributions to project ideas, invention disclosures, and revenueMaintain current knowledge of developments in Stanford Biodesign courses and practices to propose updates and modifications to BD Innovation process programs and materials.Actively maintain personal skills in course design and facilitationQUALIFICATIONSUngraduated degree in science or engineering required. Master’s degree in science, engineering, or Management preferred.10 years of product delivery, product support, and/or innovation experience in the life sciences or regulated industry.Meaningful experience with Stanford University’s Biodesign methodology preferred.Strong facilitation skills, including the ability to work with all levels of the professional organization.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience planning and leading in-person and/or virtual classes.Hands-on experience virtualizing in-person course content.Recent experience with Microsoft Teams, Adobe Connect, and/or Zoom Webinar as teaching platforms.Proven ability to resolve conflicting objectives in the design of meetings and workshops (striving for win-win outcomes)Experience with change management to support adoption of new process and course design components.Ability to travel domestically and globally 20-40% of the time when conditions permit. betweenAbility to work in a highly visible role that will interact with individuals at all organizational levels, internal and external, and at remote locations.Becton, Dickinson and Company is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
