The Finance Transition Manager reports directly into the Senior Transition Manager. The Transition Manager functions as the tactical finance professional on the project in the organization and is accountable for the successful completion of the project. The incumbent provides comprehensive project support to the responsible Finance VP and other relevant functional Leadership Teams as required. These projects may be short term or long-term assignments and may cover areas of finance such as Accounting, Controls, FP&A, and Systems which the Transition Manager should have a good understanding of to determine the appropriate approach to the project/issue and resource the project as necessary to ensure successful completion of the project and/or resolution of the issue(s). The Transition Manager is expected to perform duties with a high degree of independence, initiative, and judgment.
The incumbent works under the direct supervision of the Director, Global Finance Projects and works closely with the other VP’s of Finance, Corporate functional Teams, and the Site and Pillar Leadership Teams.
Learns and understands Dentsply Sirona’s reporting structure as this is necessary due to the many intercompany relationships between the numerous legal entities. Understanding the Product Groups/Commercial/Supply Chain/Corporate Pillars and legal entity’s structure is important for project completion/problem resolution.
Manages program specific projects and/or identified problems in the finance organization that need to be resolved as a priority due to impact to the business or internal and external reporting ramifications.
Coordinates the activities of personnel involved in the development and implementation of the project.
Plans the required collection of the necessary data and reporting parameters on each step of the projects or issues so that appropriate decision making, and resolution occurs.
Proactively suggests and may implement improvements to the internal processes as necessary. This includes execution of process improvement initiatives, initiating open dialogue with other functional departments in order to create efficiencies and streamline processes and procedures.
This position is expected to have strong working relationships with relevant corporate departments including Tax and Treasury and follows guidance and directives.
Bachelor’s Degree in business or accounting or other related discipline is required.
A Master’s degree or other post grad accreditation in Finance or Business Administration is preferred.
Years and Type of Experience:
At least 4-5 years as a senior accounting professional in a commercial/manufacturing organization. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a global division of a publicly traded company.
Experience in all facets of financial controls, accounting, systems, and financial reporting is required.
Experience working in an US listed, commercial company is preferred.
Prior demonstrated supervisory experience of an accounting team or influencing others through shared successful project work is preferred.
Key Required Skills, Knowledge and Capabilities:
Proven ability to effectively collaborate across functional disciplines and geographies.
Fundamental knowledge and experience in design and analysis of business processes and systems.
Strong analytic skills and experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle. Having strong systems knowledge and a proven track record of how to address and resolve process/system issues outside and inside the system to improve the user experience is a key skill
Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization.
Motivated self-starter with strong communication, organization and multi-tasking abilities.
Excellent written/oral communication skills.
Comfort working in a global business environment that is undergoing process and technology changes.
Embraces a strong cultural sensitivity and awareness that different business processes and requirements exist and will require harmonization.
Must be flexible and willing to work as a team to cultivate change and process improvements.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Willingness to work overtime, as necessary.
Written and oral fluency in English is mandatory.
Must have the ability to identify problems involving several variables in a variety of situations and resolve.
Must be able to apply reasoning ability to spot errors, trends toward errors and process or procedure errors.
Strong problem solving and logical thinking skills.
Microsoft office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
Domestic & international travel may be required and will vary based on project or issue.
