Cliffs Natural Resources
Provides supervision to Mining Area Electricians, Electronic Repair-persons and HVAC Technician. The Electrical Supervisor is an integral member Mining Maintenance and Operating Team. The Electrical supervisor will coordinate electrical activity with mine operations and mine maintenance to ensure the daily operating plan is integrated with the electrical maintenance activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the Electrical Planner and Scheduler to assign work.Monitors and enters work orders.Schedules crews each shift to accomplish work orders.
Works with the Planner, Section Manager, and Reliability Engineers to facilitate planning of electrical work.
Conducts work-time standards surveys, planned inspections, and monthly safety meetings.Conducts accident/incident investigation involving electrical personnel and equipment.
Keeps abreast of and implements the union labor contract.
Receives and relays to employees company policies, procedures, programs and objectives.
Assist Electricians, Electronic Repairpersons, and HVAC Technicians in the resolution of difficult problems to facilitate a timely return of equipment to production.
Follows and reviews job procedures and makes recommendations for improving them.Establishes job procedures in the field and reviews them with employees.
Provides maintenance management leadership in the development and use of management information systems and associated hardware.
Identifies and obtains equipment that needs replacement or updates to improve or maintain productivity.
Assures that Electricians and Electronic Repairmen have the proper tools and PPE to perform their work in an efficient manner.
Monitors and communicates the training needs of Electricians and Electronic Repairmen.
Coordinates parts and service needs with suppliers as needed.
Understands and Supports existing electrical procedures and policies utilized in the mining area.
Education and Competencies:
Electrical or electronic education or training required.
Experience in electrical craft.
Knowledgeable of industry standards and practices that apply to Electrical systems
1-3 years supervisory experience.
Sound knowledge of safety, environmental and MSHA regulations
Experience in a union environment a plus.
Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Competent communication skills both oral & written
Current driver’s license
