Job Description
Your Opportunity The candidate will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, interpreting, and communicating the impact of domestic and international regulatory developments on the firm. This will involve working with a number of internal partners including Legislative Affairs, Corporate Treasury, Risk, Legal and Compliance, Businesses, Technology, etc. What you are good at Monitoring, summarizing and generating thought leadership related to the impact of proposals for new international and US-specific regulatory rules, legislation, and guidance Communicating the impact of these developments to senior executives, businesses, departments and other impacted areas Assessing the impact of US-specific and international prudential standards on new products and business proposals Participating in project work related to changes in regulatory rules and helping support the implementation of rule changes Draft policy position papers, memos, speeches, operational/management committee slides/updates, and other preparatory materials. Coordinates with Legislative Affairs on political and practical viability of policy positions based upon updated intelligence, industry positions, and broader insights Develop and maintain positive relationships with senior external partners from Trade Associations and prudential policy makers; What you have At least 7 years of professional public policy experience in the private sector, trade associations, or government; and Existing industry (financial sector and / or DC eco-system (legislative or regulatory agency)) relationships would be an advantage; and Experience in one or more of the following regulatory areas \u2013 market regulation (i.e., derivatives, securities), prudential regulation (i.e., capital, leverage, and liquidity), commercial banking, or cybersecurity, or from within a public policy and regulatory affairs role or gained from experience within an economics, legal, capital planning, trading floor strategy, financial control, risk, government, legal or trade association environment. Master or equivalent degree in Public Policy, Law, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or other related field of study; Excellent verbal and written communication abilities; Strong interpersonal coordination skills
