Job Description
Henry Ford Health System is seeking a Deputy General Counsel, Hospital Operations that is responsible for the hospital operations team and activities related to multiple HFHS hospital campuses. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists the General Counsel with administrative or legal matters, including planning, organizing and managing projects assigned to lawyers;

Develops or assists in the development of budget recommendations; 
or assists in the development of budget recommendations;
Manages outside counsel in transactional matters; and

Provides legal advice in support of the strategic direction of the organization in the following areas:  state and federal regulatory matters; physician contracting including acquisitions, independent contractor relationships, PSAs, and clinically integrated networks; day to day legal advice on Stark, the anti-kickback statute, and fraud and abuse laws.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:      

Juris Doctorate (JD);
Minimum of 15 years of experience in a major law firm or corporate legal department advising in the areas noted above;
Ideal candidate has managed a team of lawyers in-house or in private practice; and
Must possess strong initiative as well as excellent management, team-work, delegation and problem-solving abilities.
