Corporate Medical Director','2111206','Estée Lauder Companies','Environmental Health & Safety - Supply Chain','Americas-US-NY-Melville','','','','','Full-time','1st (Day) Shift','Yes, 25 % of the Time','Standard','','','!*!The Chief Medical Officer “CMO” will be responsible for leading the development, strategy, and execution of a global health policy and medical office aligned with the ELC business strategy and priorities resulting in the health, safety and well-being of employees and better business outcomes.  The CMO will have responsibility for management of all potential health, social and environmental challenges by developing and implementing policies, directors and best-in class programs and providers.  This position will be a key member of the ELC Global Environmental Health, Safety and Sustainability function and will report directly to the Sr. Vice President of Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability. The CMO will also serve as lead Medical Advisor to the CEO and global Crises Leadership Team.

Determine and clearly articulate a global vision of optimal health and business success while efficiently using resources to deliver on the vision, outlining risks of delayed or failed implementation in order to ensure well-informed decisions are made.
Develop and implement a global medical program with centralized policies and procedures, but implemented locally in each region.
Lead the establishment and management of a medical office at Corporate Headquarters in the GM building serving Executives as well as all employees.
Establish ELC on-site medical offices/clinics across the globe at key locations an/or identify external vendors to provide medical and clinical services.
Partners closely with R&D toxicologists in development of product safety testing methods.
Using a variety of data sources & aligning with functional colleagues (benefits, HR, legal), identify the health risks of the workface as well as the direct and indirect influences of health, and develop and implement reporting scorecards to collect and analyze data understanding current cost of current employee health & wellbeing to the business; develop and incorporate programs that address issues that impact both work-related and nonwork-related issues.
In partnership with functional colleagues create a Culture of Health by implementing wellness programs, ergronomics and prevention programs to address productivity and worker health and well-being related issues.
Understand and guide the data analysis of the linkages between worker health and the economic impact of lost productivity
Navigate and interpret disparate heath systems and requirements in countries that ELC has businesses and lead the development, implementation of monitor location, national and international regulations; conduct audits to ensure compliance
Lead the development and implementation of global standards and corporate occupational global health standards to serve, protect and enhance the well-being of the global workforce while navigating and interpreting the disparate health systems and requirements in all countries in which ELC operates.
Cultivate a connection with global benefits leaders and take an active role in consulting on global benefit plan designs.
Lead Emergency Preparedness as it relates to health and well-being of employee such as pandemics.  Provide leadership during periodic communicable disease outbreaks such as TB or measles as well as other health threats taking responsibility for internal emergency phase approaches.
Lead the development of effective governance and audit processes ensuring quality and effectiveness of occupational health programs and services.

Good negotiation skills such as tendering process with external suppliers matched up with a solid understanding of cost implications
Skilled at setting priorities & reassessing in response to changing project demands
Must be technically organized, have excellent follow-up skills as well as interpersonal skills in order to present information in manners which are usable based on a variety of audiences..
Fluent in suite of Microsoft applications.   
Outstanding written, verbal and presentation skills
Inclusivity and cultural awareness
Minimum 15 years’ experience
20-25% Travel

Medical degree and board certification in occupational medicine
Valid Medical license. Occupational Health experience required
English, other languages a bonus
