We are currently looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting Services team. This position will be a key contributor to the team’s success and will have a wide range of responsibilities that are integral to the Corporate function.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Prepare and maintain the Brunswick entity ledgers for all Boating Services Network (BSN) businesses, including Brunswick Product Protection Corporation (BPPC), Brunswick Acceptance Corporation (BAC) and Bluewater Financial Services. Support business unit management by providing financial statements and performing analyses as appropriate.
Prepare and maintain the Brunswick entity ledger for Nautic-On. Support business unit management by reviewing and posting source system journal entries, providing financial statements and performing analyses as appropriate. Provide recommendations for process improvement in this growing business.
Responsible for the maintenance of certain Corporate owned ledgers, including Disposed Businesses (608), Centennial Insurance (636), and Investment Accounts (609).
Responsible for the preparation of the Centennial financial statements including review of key accounts for the preparation of Joint Venture Rollforward. Provide support for annual audit.
Responsibility for maintenance and preparation of inter-company account reconciliations for the Corporate Office (604) ledger. This includes ensuring all accounts are reconciled with Division Accounting records and final management reports that support the Longview consolidated Brunswick intercompany account analysis.
Prepare annual Intercompany Novation entry for all Corporate entities and reconcile final balances with all Divisional reporting units
Direct responsibility for all accounting activities and analysis related to the fixed asset accounts, including coordination of quarterly inventories in support of Sarbanes Oxley compliance and maintenance of the Oracle Fixed Asset system.
Responsible for performing general ledger journal entries for the daily cash transactions that affect corporate and divisional bank accounts and various intercompany accounts.
Responsible for the reconciliation of the daily cash entries on a weekly and monthly basis; responsible for uploading into Oracle and sending the details out to the business units. Provide timely resolution to any issues prompted by the information sent.
Perform key role within the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes. Responsible for account balance reconciliation, research and analysis in assigned areas. Responsible for preparation and submission of monthly/quarterly supplemental data into Longview Database.
Prepare monthly reports for management reporting that support the Director of Accounting Services in the monthly forecast update process.
Prepare and distribute monthly departmental statements to Corporate department managers.
Document and maintain desk procedures for all key processes for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
Identify opportunities to automate or redesign processes to support overall Brunswick Corporate Accounting initiatives.
Assist Financial Reporting Group during quarterly / annual earnings release cycles as requested
Responsible for special projects as assigned.
We’re looking for you to bring the following to our winning team:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, required
A minimum of 5 to 7 years of General Ledger reconciliation experience
Proven ability to manage time and multiple priorities in a fast paced, demanding environment. Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver projects on time. Provides direction to others on select processes.
Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization. Proven process Improvement skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Technical skills including Oracle, Longview, or similar ERP and consolidation systems
