The incumbent works under the direct supervision of the Controller who works closely with the VP, Americas accounting, the FP&A team, Corporate functional teams, and the Byte leadership team.
Responsible for managing and directing the Accounting team (GL, AP, AR, Payroll) in Salt Lake City, Utah and Santa Monica, CA.
Prepares and analyzes statements of monthly financial data including income statement and balance sheet.
Ensures that accounting is timely and in compliance with company accounting policies, and U.S. GAAP.
Ensures that the proper procedures, policies and controls are in place as designed in order to maintain strong internal controls and conducts continuous education of site personnel so that there is compliance with these requirements.
Other duties include performing reconciliations on general ledger accounts as needed; monitoring variances; preparing and/or reviewing journal entries; reviewing financial statements; internal controls in conformance with established SOX processes, and serving as liaison with external parties (Corporate, Corporate Audit, external auditors, , etc.). Additionally, participate in new ERP system implementation activities as required
Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in business or accounting or other related discipline is required.
A Master’s Degree in finance or Business Administration is preferred.
CPA certification strongly preferred
Years and Type of Experience:
More than 10 years of accounting, general ledger and financial close experience, with minimum of 3 years successfully leading a team
Prior experience with public companies strongly preferred
Prior experience with public accounting firms strongly preferred
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and Internal control (SOX) requirements
Strong analytic skills and preferred experience working with Microsoft Dynamics, Hyperion suite of products.

Having strong systems knowledge and a proven track record of how to address and resolve process/system issues outside and inside the system to improve the user experience is a key skill for this role.

Motivated self-starter with strong communication, organization and multi-tasking abilities.
Excellent written/oral communication skills. Written and oral fluency in English is mandatory.
Comfort working in a global business environment that is undergoing process and technology changes.
Embraces a strong cultural sensitivity and awareness that different business processes and requirements exist and will require harmonization.
Must be flexible and willing to work as a team to cultivate change and process improvements.
Ability to meet deadlines and willingness to work overtime, as necessary.
Must have the ability to identify problems involving several variables in a variety of situations and resolve.
Must be able to apply reasoning ability to spot errors, trends toward errors and process or procedure errors.
Microsoft office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access. Advance Excel skill will be required.
Some domestic travel may be required.
Proven ability and motivation to develop subordinates for increasing levels of responsibility.
