Company History: The founding of the U.S. Forest Service, a part of the Department of Agriculture of the U.S. can be traced back to the end of 19th century. The country's national forests were initially called forest reserves and these began in 1891 when Forest Reserve Act was set. This allowed the nation's president to establish the forest reserves from the public land that was covered with timber. Many early visionaries and leaders and willing presidents, trained professionals, conservation and scientific organizations made it possible to retain acres of forest land.
