The leader of a given company is referred to as the chairman or chairperson. The duties performed by a chairperson are identical to those of a president or chief executive officer. The chairperson is responsible for providing a vision and strategic foresight to the organization while marshaling the efforts of the organization?s directors and senior managers. Second to none in the organization, the chairperson has the authority to make all the strategic decisions affecting the business and the responsibility for the success or failure of the organization and its subunits.
Irrespective of the size, type, and geographical location of the organization, almost every organization has a chair position, though it may be named differently. Depending on the country and the type of organization, a chairperson may be alternately referred to as a CE0, managing director, director, president, partner, chief administrative officer, or executive president, among other titles. Serious applicants for these positions are typically expected to have 15+ years of experience in the area in of management operations.
