Club Chef

Club chefs usually have at least 5 years prior experience in the culinary industry as an Executive Chef or Sous Chef, with positive progression in the industry. Candidates applying will be interested to know that employers consider prior Private Club experience as a definite plus.

Club chefs report to a clubhouse manager. They work under time and budget limitations and handle pressure with a smile. Interested candidates must be able to work in a team setting and have a positive attitude. A seasoned club chef is comfortable working even when events dictate; including any nights, weekends and holidays, when necessary.

Club chefs are required to have the following essential skills: the ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; the ability to physically lift up to 50 lbs; the ability to work while standing for long periods of time; the ability to follow directions and work both independently and as a member of a team; the ability to solve problems and respond to any member\'s or guest\'s challenges in a friendly and professional manner. Interested candidates must be free of any pre-existing physical limitations that would hinder proper job performance.

Club chefs are also required to have these must haves: a culinary degree, CEC designation or higher; basic computer skills, including Windows, Word, and Excel; and a good knowledge of food and wine pairing.
