This is a full-time position with the University of Tennessee Korn Learning, Assessment, and Social Skills (KLASS) Center; and College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences. Description: This position is responsible for providing psychoeducational services to children, parents, and teachers within schools and school systems outside the University’s campus for individuals who may have educational disabilities; provides training to teachers, graduate practicum students, and interns as needed; and supports other Center activities as needed (95% of work in Hamblen County). This position follows an approximate 10-month school calendar for providing services in the assigned schools. Duties and Responsibilities: Provides psychological and/or psychoeducational evaluations, consultations, direct interventions, and other therapeutic services as needed in a PreK – 12 setting; provides some supervision, evaluation, and training for graduate practicum students and/or interns who are also working in a PreK – 12 setting as needed. All services are to be completed following the appropriate district, state, and federal requirements. Provides functional behavioral assessments as necessary. Attends Individual Education Program (IEP) meetings concerning eligibility for individual students and acts as the interpreter of testing results for parents, teachers, and students as appropriate. Provides input as requested by the school system regarding current evaluation procedures. Works with Center staff and school system staff to insure smooth daily operations; provides guidance to staff, interns, and graduate students; collects information for evaluative purposes; and reports outcomes. Communicates with staff regarding daily operations, clinical activities, and other important information through email, telephone, and documents; communicates with staff and faculty; makes presentations at local, state, and national conventions/conferences regarding current practices as necessary; collaborates with professionals in the fields of School Psychology and Special Education; communicates with children, children’s parents, and teachers as related to psychoeducational evaluations. Performs other duties as needed. This position reports directly to the KLASS Center Director ','!*!Requirements:
Education: Minimum: Successful candidate has a Masters degree or EdS degree in School Psychology, or highly related field; Experience: Minimum: Minimum of 1 year of supervised experience in school psychology in a PreK – 12 setting; Must be license-eligible or licensed by the State of Tennessee Board of Education as a School Psychologist. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Successful candidate must be willing to stay up-to-date with and implement best practices as currently outlined by research.
