Job Description
Litigation Counsel The candidate will be responsible for the management and overseeing of company representation in North America pharmaceutical patent and other intellectual property litigation, including pre-litigation preparation, developing and assertion of claims and defenses, management of outside counsel, discovery compliance, case strategy, written submissions, trial/hearing attendance, and internal reporting. Will monitor product development and coordinate with IP group to take pre-litigation steps under Hatch-Waxman Act for U.S. ANDA filings. Assist in the development of claims and defenses in patent litigation. Assist in making case strategy decisions. Manage substantial docket of United States patent litigation. Oversee discovery efforts for all U.S. patent litigation. Assist in the management of Canadian patent litigation. Manage outside counsel services, including work product, budgets, and invoices. Attend key depositions, hearings, arguments and trials. Communicate key matters and issues to VP, Global Patent Litigation. Prepare materials and present to SVP, Global General Counsel, IP and Litigation and Global General Counsel.
