Great opportunity to learn the practice of civil law from the ground up in Alaska's capital city. We are a small family law firm with a big reach, trying personal injury cases from Barrow, Alaska to San Diego, California. We are looking for motivated, ambitious and organized individuals who want to learn and be real lawyers. You'll start immediately learning to interview new clients, investigate cases, prepare complaints and discovery. Once you have passed the bar, you'll be taking depositions and preparing to try cases.
Alaska is an extraordinary place to practice law. Small town environments encourage lawyers to be civil to one another while a strong judiciary and cosmopolitan population insure quality legal work on interesting cases. This is a good place to like the outdoors, whether its kayaking, skiing or mountain biking. It's also a great place for culture with our own symphony, theater company that produces plays that go on to national recognition, and Folk and Jazz Festivals known around the country.
You need to be smart, organized, with exceptional communication skills and be willing to work hard. We'll supply the rest. Salary is negotiable but this is a personal injury law firm. We work on a contingency so your base salary will be like most small town practices (we do provide medical) with incentives for success when you assist in successfully resolving cases.
