Clinical Educator/Clinical Nurse Specialist (RN) - Oncology/BMTThis position will support all inpatient units and Infusion for Sarah Cannon Cancer Center. 
Our 657 bed hospital is both nationally and locally recognized, including being named as one of the nation's Top 100 Hospitals in the areas of cardiology, stroke, orthopaedics and breast cancer management. As a result of the continued advances in quality care, many improvements in all areas of healthcare have been made and thousands of lives have been significantly impacted. This position will play a key part in continuing our success!
Essential Functions1. The
Clinical Educator fosters educational development of nursing staff.2. Collects data and information related
to educational needs and other pertinent situations3. Analyzes issues, trends and supporting
data to determine the needs of individuals, organizations and communities4. Identifies desired outcomes5. Establishes a plan that prescribes
strategies, alternatives and resources to achieve expected outcomes6. Implements the identified plan     a. Coordinates educational initiatives and
activities     b. Employs strategies and techniques to
promote positive learning and                practice environment     c. Provides consultation to influence
plans, enhance the abilities of others          and effect change7. Evaluates progress toward attainment of
outcomes8. Systematically enhances the quality and
effectiveness of nursing professional development practice9. Maintains current knowledge and
competency in nursing and professional development practice10. Evaluates
his/her own practice in relation to professional practice standards and
guidelines and relevant statues, rules and regulations11. Established
collegial partnerships contributing to the professional development of peers,
students, colleagues and others12. Collaborates
with inter-professional teams, leaders, stakeholders,  and others to facilitate nursing practice and
positive outcomes for customers13. Integrates
ethics in all areas of practice14. Advocates
for the protections and rights of individuals, families, communities,
populations, healthcare providers, nursing and other professions, institutions
and organizations15. Integrates
research findings into practice16. Considers
factors related to safety, effectiveness, and cost in regard to professional
development activities and expected outcomes17. Provides
leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession.18. Supports the facility’s Standards of
Performance and ICARE values','!*!Qualifications:1. BSN required; MSN or MSN Ed. or
currently enrolled in a program required (after 1/1/2017).2. Current licensure by Tennessee Board of
Nursing as a Registered Nurse in good standing3. Demonstrates experience in clinical
specialty (minimum of 3 years) preferred4. Demonstrates experience as a nursing
professional development specialist (2 years full time); 1 year teaching
experience preferred.5. Current certification(s) in clinical
specialty and/or staff development specialty or must be obtained within 6
months of hire.6. BLS
