Proper Etiquette at a Company Outing
You need to keep in mind proper work etiquette if you're planning on attending any workplace event.

  1. Never Ditch the Event - Company outings are a great way to spend time with the people you might not really get along with at work. It usually helps people open up and connect in a better manner. If you're shy to move around in groups then you should refer to some self-improvement tips that will help you open up and mingle with the crowd. Try to be as active at the workplace event as possible. You could bring a home cooked meal that you could share with your colleagues to help get a conversation going.

  2. Don't Drink Too Much - Avoiding alcohol would be the best option, but if all your team members are drinking you can join in as long as you know when to stop. One of the worst things that could happen at a workplace event is you getting drunk and dancing on the table. Focus on personal development skills if you're not too comfortable with your team members and try to stay calm. A drink or two won't do you any harm as long as you can handle it well.

  3. Follow the Rules - One of the most important self-improvement tips is to follow the rules. You need to first know the rules in order to follow them which is why it's important for you to go through the rules. Figure out what clothing would be appropriate to wear and when it's required for you to turn off your cell phone. The last thing you'd want at a workplace event is to see your boss getting mad over something you did or didn't do correctly.

  4. Dress Appropriately - Many workplace event are planned at places that might include a swimming pool. It's important for men and women to stay away from speedos or bikinis since they are just too revealing and not something that you'd want your boss to see you in. Proper work etiquette is essential, and even if you plan on staying away from the pool, wear clothes that are comfortable and not revealing.
