You have got an interview letter and you have prepared well. You have done your homework, you have practiced your questions-answers and you feel confident and ready. 1. Directions - Do not leave your home without knowing the directions to the venue of the interview and which the best route to reach it is. It will add to your confidence if you do not encounter any stumbling blocks along your way to the interview. Also, ensure that you are 15-20 minutes early.

  2. A copy of your CV - Yes, it would be most likely that they will have a copy with them. Nonetheless, it is a good thing to carry one copy of your CV along with copies of your references. Have it filed neatly in a pocket folder and ready to offer it for a quick look, if required. This will show you prepared and organized - both excellent qualities no matter what job you are applying for.

  3. Business Cards - Offering business cards to the interview panel members is an excellent way to make them remember you after the interview. They will also remember you as the person who took the trouble to connect to them.

  4. Cell Phone - You can carry your cell phone into the interview room, especially if it is a nice model. It often makes an impression. However, ensure that it is either switched off or on silent mode. It should by no means interrupt or distract you during the interview. This will be construed as disrespect.

  5. Background Information - You need to do your research on the company and know as much as possible about its history, trajectory and goals. You also need to prepare to ask a few questions about the company, the job's fit in the mission, vision and goal and the like.

  6. Confident Attitude - There is a very thin line between confident and cocky. Never project a cocky attitude. Even if you are by far the best qualified and experienced for the job, never project a cocky attitude. Work on showing that you are confident and aware of your value, but underplay it to display a decent amount of modesty. Everyone loves and wants to have confident people around, but hates cocky people.

  7. Sunny Disposition - A smile not only improves your looks, but also sends a happy signal and sets a positive atmosphere. A smile is always a good thing to carry with you.
