  1. You Cannot Move Much Once You Have Set Up a Career Path - The only thing that limits you is your belief that you cannot move ahead. There is no perfect job or career path. Things change, you change, the market changes, your outlook changes and so on. You can change your mind and career path anytime you want. Of course, you need to plan for it and invest time, money and effort, but all that is worth it when you look at the alternative, i.e. being stuck in a career that no longer appeals to you professionally or personally.

  2. You Should Always Look for a Career Path That Uses Your Skills Best - That is one way to put it. There is another way, however, and that is that you can acquire any skills you need to pursue the career you want. Let nothing limit you from achieving your dreams. As long as you are realistic and hard working anything is possible.

  3. You Should Follow Your Heart, and the Money Will Follow - It happens this way sometimes, but this is more an exception than a rule. Let's say you love to paint. There is money in it, of course, but you need to work very hard for it. Your painting may not sell like a Picasso, but if you are realistic you may find way that will pay you good enough money. You might, for example, team up with an ad agency or film studio, or open your own ad agency, work with an event manager, and so on. There is always a way for those who have the will.

  4. No MBA No Big Money - Nothing can be more crippling than this belief. There is no assurance than an MBA degree will actually get you on the scale of financial self-sufficiency you have dreamed about. On the other hand, there are hundreds of jobs that could pay a lot more than any MBA-based job. Hence, set your target (for the money you want to earn) and then find the ways you can do it. Do not limit yourself by believing you do not deserve more because you have no MBA, college degree or a particular skill set.
