Why People Love Hound:

Why Contacting Employers Directly Is the Best Way to Get a Job

Why Our CEO Hates Job Boards

Unlike any other site, using Hound you can see more than 700,000 jobs we have collected from over 30,000 employer websites. Most of these jobs are not advertised and as a member you will be among a select few to know about them.

What is Hound?
Hound is a job search engine that shows its members jobs from every employer website it can find in the United States and throughout the world. We go to employer websites and report to you every job that we find. We accept no advertising and when you use Hound you are applying direct to employers.

Why use Hound?
Most jobs are posted on employer websites and not commercial job boards. The reason for this is that it is free for employers to post jobs on their own sites and may cost $300 or more for an employer to post a job on a commercial job site. Because jobs on employer websites typically are not anywhere near as known about as they would be if they were on a site like Monster, HotJobs, Indeed, CareerBuilder and so forth—jobs on employer websites typically receive hardly any applications because job seekers simply do not know about them. Hound allows its members to be the first and only applicants to these jobs on employer websites.

Hound does not allow any advertisers, and our search results are influenced only by what employers tell us are available. We do not list recruiter jobs at all. Our search results are not influenced by advertisers like other sites are. We only list jobs direct from employer websites. Hound is pure job search.

Hound Has No Advertising
There are no banner ads or pop-up advertising on Hound. The information you see is supported by your membership. Hound works for you to bring you unbiased information about jobs.

Some of the happiest, most well adjusted, and most effective people I know are also people who have a profound ability to disconnect from their work.  They can disconnect rapidly and put themselves in another state of mind which does not involve work.  People who come to mind include Richard Branson, who set records in [...] Related posts:

I took a look at this site and thought it was just like the others! It's not! It's easy to find the job that you are looking for! I actually was looking for a job like my last one and found many in my area! I was working 20 miles from my home and I found a one just a couple of miles away. Looks like the gas prices won't be affecting me much now! Thanks!

I enjoyed using the services of Hound as I came across a lot of unadvertised job opportunities throughout the country. The search feature was tremendous; I was able to search through individual cities, which narrowed down my search to exactly what I was looking for. Excellent work!

Hound was an awesome experience! The best part about the site is that it has no advertisements or banners anywhere on its site. It is a very straight forward website that provided me with many unadvertised options in the job market. I recommend Hound to anyone searching for employment. Thanks!

How to Balance Working from Home and Being a Mom (Part I)
Brooke Heath
When I first realized that I would have the opportunity to do the majority of my work from home while raising my one-year old, I thought, ''perfect!'' Little did I know that while working from home can save in baby-sitter fees, it’s not always the picture-perfect scenario that I envisioned. Trying to chase around a toddler while doing work (thank goodness for laptops!) can be difficult to say the least, but at the same time, very rewarding and worthwhile. Through trial and error, I have learned the following tips on how to find a balance between my career at home, and raising my child.

How to Make Your Job Search Less Taxing
Brooke Heath
Job searching can take its toll on people in many ways: emotionally, mentally, and even physically. Fortunately, for some job searchers, several search-related-expenses can be written off, making the financial toll of job searching a little less ''taxing''.

Following Up After the Interview
Brooke Heath
A common misconception among job searchers is that after the interview is over all they can do is wait. But being passive can actually hurt your chances at the job offer at this point. It's important to follow up after the interview to ensure that your name is still fresh on the interviewers' and hiring committee's minds.
